Blackline Safety Named One of Canada’s Top Growing Companies for Fifth Consecutive Year

Alberta’s only tech company to make the list five years running

CALGARY, Canada--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Blackline Safety Corp. (TSX: BLN), a global leader in connected safety technology, today announced that it’s been named to the Globe and Mail’s 2023 Report on Business ranking of Canada’s Top Growing Companies for the fifth year in a row.

Canada’s Top Growing Companies ranks Canadian companies on three-year revenue growth. Blackline Safety earned its No. 321 spot with three-year revenue growth of 119%. Since Blackline was first named to the inaugural list in 2019, the company has experienced revenue growth of 310%, deploying to customers in over 70 countries and protecting over 150,000 workers worldwide.

Blackline Safety is the only Alberta-based technology company that has made the list every year since the list first launched and is one of only 36 companies in all of Canada that have been ranked all five years. Earlier this month, Blackline announced its Q3 2023 fiscal results, achieving its 26th consecutive quarter of year-over-year revenue growth driven by strength in both product and service segments.

In recognition of the company’s fifth year on the list, Blackline’s CEO and Chair, Cody Slater, will speak at a panel session, Repeat Performance – Secrets for Success from Five-Year Top Growing Companies, during the Globe and Mail’s Growth Camp. The conference will be held on October 11 in Toronto, Canada starting at 9:00 am EDT.

“We’re thrilled to be named as one of Canada’s Top Growing Companies for five years running. Our year-over-year financial results show we’ve grown to be one of the most significant players in our industry,” said Slater.

“Our growth is attributed to our customers, who trust our connected safety technology to keep their workers safe. We’re constantly innovating to make worksites safer—getting people help in real-time, when and where they need it.

Blackline’s all-in-one solutions for lone worker protection and gas detection are leading the industry—made possible by our team’s commitment to our purpose to make sure every worker has the confidence to get their job done and return home safe at the end of the day,” Slater added.

Canada’s Top Growing Companies is an editorial ranking that was launched in 2019. It aims to celebrate the boldest entrepreneurial achievement by identifying and bringing the accomplishments of innovative businesses in Canada to the forefront.

The full list of 2023 winners along with editorial coverage is published in the November issue of Report on Business magazine. The list is out now and online here.

“Canada's Top Growing Companies recognizes the tremendous ambition and innovation of entrepreneurs in Canada," says Dawn Calleja, Editor of Report on Business magazine. “The next generation of Canadian businesses can draw inspiration from this ranking.”
