Zimmermann to drive innovation and growth for Company’s $10 Billion business services unit

PHILADELPHIA--()--Comcast Corporation today announced Ed Zimmermann has been named President of Comcast Business. Zimmermann will focus on driving continued long-term growth and strategic innovation for the $10 Billion commercial services business unit. He succeeds Bill Stemper who transitions to Chairman Emeritus, Comcast Business.

“Ed is an outstanding executive with a track record of building strong teams, driving transformation, and achieving results,” said David Watson, President and Chief Executive Officer, Comcast Cable. “Ed has brought impressive financial and operational expertise to Comcast Business and is well respected by the management team.”

Zimmermann succeeds Bill Stemper, who has led Comcast Business since its inception in 2006. Under Stemper, Comcast Business has evolved from selling residential services to small business customers into a global enterprise with $10 Billion in revenue serving customers of all sizes. Stemper transitions to Chairman Emeritus, Comcast Business, and will continue to participate in the company and the industry.

“Bill Stemper is an extraordinary leader and operator. Comcast Business has been on a spectacular growth trajectory under his leadership for the past 17 years. Bill and his team have organically built this successful business from the ground up and I’m deeply grateful for his partnership and friendship,” continued Watson.

Most recently, Zimmermann served as Chief Financial Officer and Chief of Strategy for Comcast Business. In this role he was responsible for maintaining and growing annual revenue and accelerating Comcast Business’s growth from small and medium-sized businesses into the upper market. He has worked across Comcast in a variety of financial, strategic, and growth-oriented roles, including SVP of Finance and Administration, Northeast Division and VP of Finance and Administration, Beltway Division.

Ed earned a B.A. in Business and a M.B.A. in Finance and Strategy from Temple University in Philadelphia. He is an advocate for improved educational outcomes for Philadelphia’s youth, and currently serves as Board Chair of The Fund for the School District of Philadelphia.
