Clear Street Appoints Former Morgan Stanley Technology Leader Jon Daplyn as Chief Information Officer

Prime broker also welcomes new Vice President of Engineering from Cantor Fitzgerald

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Clear Street (“Clear Street,” “the Company”), a New York-based independent prime broker, today announced it has expanded its technology leadership team with the appointment of Jonathan “Jon” Daplyn as Chief Information Officer (“CIO”) and Hari Godbole as Managing Director and Vice President of Engineering, effective immediately.

Daplyn leads the Company’s 150 technologists and reports to Chris Pento, Clear Street's Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer. Godbole reports to Daplyn and oversees technology for Clear Street Derivatives, Securities Finance, and Clearing, Settlement & Custody.

“Jon and Hari have the expertise and vision to help guide our organization as we pioneer a technology-first experience for prime brokerage to compete with the best in the world,” said Sachin Kumar, Clear Street Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer. “Clear Street’s ability to attract such talent is a testament to all the hard work we’ve put into building this business. Under their leadership, we’ll build even better experiences for our clients and accomplish our mission to replace the outdated infrastructure used across capital markets.”

Daplyn joins Clear Street from Morgan Stanley, where he was instrumental in building a global prime brokerage business and served most recently as Head of Prime Brokerage Technology. As head of Clear Street’s product and engineering organization, Daplyn will manage and successfully implement the Company’s future roadmap.

“I am excited to join the Clear Street team at this pivotal moment,” Daplyn said. “With its cloud-native clearing and custody system, Clear Street is setting the standard for technology in risk management, execution management, portfolio management, and more. I look forward to partnering with Sachin and the team to deliver exceptional product experiences to our clients.”

Godbole brings more than 20 years of experience to Clear Street, including most recently at Cantor Fitzgerald, where he served as CIO of Cantor Fitzgerald Secured, CIO of Helix Financial Systems, and Chief Technology Officer of Post Trade Technology. Godbole previously served in senior roles at Citi, Fidelity Capital Markets, and J.P. Morgan.

Clear Street recently announced its intentions to enter the futures clearing market by acquiring React Consulting Services, LLC, and its proprietary, cloud-native futures clearing platform, BASIS. Earlier this year, Clear Street announced plans to build an investment banking business and welcomed industry experts to lead the new practice area.
