Sigma Announces Momentum Toward Democratizing Data, Doubles its Revenue and Customer Base in First Half of 2023

Analytics Platform Modernizes Data Stacks, Empowers Users to Harness Their Business Intelligence

SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sigma, the first and only cloud data platform enabling business and technical users to collaborate and analyze live, at scale data from their cloud data warehouse, today announced two consecutive quarters of growth in FY24, doubling its revenue and adding to its growing list of enterprise customers to double its base. By enabling companies to make better use of their data without the need for deep analytical expertise or coding, Sigma secured at least one new customer per day in the third quarter of 2023. It also strengthened its partner ecosystem, securing numerous partnership integrations across multiple industries.

“Over the past year, Sigma has achieved remarkable platform growth by removing barriers to data access and empowering business users to reap maximum value from their live data without the need for technical expertise,” said Mike Palmer, Sigma CEO. “We’re committed to continuing to forge partnerships with leading cloud innovators, creating an ecosystem that enables faster, smarter and more data-driven decisions at every level of organizations.”

Sigma’s continued significant growth in FY24 comes from its strategic focus on enabling anyone within an enterprise to directly engage and analyze real-time data in its cloud data warehouse. No knowledge of SQL or Python required. Built for the cloud, Sigma eliminates the endless back and forth between data and business users, often saving days and even weeks of time waiting for business insights. Sigma's intuitive spreadsheet-like interface enables business users to explore and analyze billions of rows of data, augment with new data, and perform “what if” analysis on data in real-time. Sigma also enables data scientists and BI teams to extend their work to business users through functions, metrics and reusable components, all in a secured and governed platform.

"In the last six months, we've seen a 30% uptick in Sigma's utilization that powers our customer's guest experience and hotel efficiency goals," said Dino Pietropaolo, CTO at Optii. "With Sigma, we're able to deliver value and agility to our customers with a 50% increase in speed in delivering new intelligence and visualizations."

Nearly 200,000 active daily users now rely on Sigma to instantly access, explore and gain insights from their cloud data warehouse. In the first half of 2023, business users have executed more than 350 million queries on the platform. Sigma has also announced Sigma AI, the company’s research initiative to integrate AI applications within existing features across the Sigma platform for a more intuitive and enjoyable user experience via best-in-class AI+BI, focused on enabling automation for common and laborious tasks, as well as for increasing approachability to make data exploration even more accessible for users.

Sigma Builds Modern Data Stack with Cloud Innovators

Sigma has made remarkable progress toward unlocking the true power of exploratory analytics by creating a comprehensive ecosystem of partners, including ETL/ELT solution providers, cloud computing platforms, and highly specialized consulting and system integrator partners that are dedicated to delivering the next wave of business intelligence to mutual customers.

In the first half of 2023, Sigma launched partner integrations with Databricks, bringing live, no-code data analytics to the Databricks Lakehouse; Hightouch, a leading provider of Data Activation and Customer Data Platform (CDP) solutions, enabling marketing and data teams to activate customer data to over 200 destinations like ad platforms and CRMs; and Atlan, an active metadata platform that helps enterprises discover, understand, trust, collaborate on, and govern their data. They also partnered with Monte Carlo, a machine learning-driven solution that keeps data secure by proactively identifying and assessing data issues to provide a seamless experience for data teams and business users.
