More about the Best in Future of Connectedness Award-Winning Project:

Overall Winner: Town of Morrisville, Connected Parks & Morrisville Central building a Smart Morrisville

Project Details: The Town of Morrisville is cultivating a culture of connectedness through the Smart Morrisville strategy we developed with IDC. Morrisville's focus on being "Data-driven. Community Focused. Future-forward." became the motto for our Smart City Program and drives every project we initiate. One such project, Morrisville Connected Parks, integrates our Parks with the digital age. Working with several partners, this initiative is responsible for gathering data via IoT sensors, remotely managing parks, reporting data to a publicly available dashboard, and notifying residents of field status changes in near real time. We also provide the status of courts and predictive analytics of court usage across the Town via the dashboard. A second project leverages multiple platforms utilized by the Town to engage with residents via a new mobile app. The app integrates different platforms into an easy-to-use interface which gives residents a more convenient method of interaction with the Town. Residents can report concerns in their communities, view Town-provided community events, and view the status of amenities at parks, all without any additional lifts from Town staff.
