Sunstone Management Expands Presence To East Coast With Office In New York City

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sunstone Management, Inc., headquartered in Irvine, Calif., is opening an office in New York City.

Sunstone is a diversified private capital management firm focusing on early-stage venture capital, and is partnered with Lair East Labs, a top accelerator in New York City. The office opening will take place on Sept. 14, coinciding with Lair East Labs’ Demo Day for its current cohort of startup companies.

While the Sunstone office is in the same building as the Lair East Labs operation in the middle of Manhattan, it will be a separate entity, according to Lloyd Wei, Sunstone’s vice president of venture capital.

“We’re here to help Lair East Labs, but we’re also here to increase awareness of Sunstone Management,” Wei said. “We want to meet our partners, Founders, potential partners and investors in person. We will be part of the ecosystem here in New York.”

Sunstone now has a business license in New York. Sunstone CEO and managing partner John Keisler said that there will be Sunstone representatives in New York City monthly, as well as during special events.

Sunstone’s founder, John Shen, will be in New York City for the opening, along with Mike Stone, chief investment officer; Jasmine Jiang, director of the investment department; and Wei. They will be attending the Demo Day as well.
