The Standard’s 2023 Volunteer Expo Returns In Person to Pioneer Courthouse Square

The Volunteer Expo on Sept. 7 will bring more than 100 nonprofits and thousands of visitors downtown to find ways to help their communities together

PORTLAND, Ore.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Standard’s Volunteer Expo is back and bigger than ever, featuring 100 nonprofits at Pioneer Courthouse Square on Thursday, Sept. 7, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Representatives from local nonprofits will be available to connect volunteers with their communities.

“We’re so excited to be back on the Square for our annual Volunteer Expo,” said Dan McMillan, president and chief executive officer at The Standard. “Last year was our first year back at the Square and it was a great success, connecting Oregonians with new volunteer opportunities during a time when our community needed it more than ever. And our nonprofit partners still need you, so please join us downtown on Sept. 7.”

For more than a decade, The Standard has hosted the Volunteer Expo to provide ways for volunteers and nonprofits to connect. The Standard has long been committed to supporting organizations that make a positive difference in the community.

Participating nonprofits represent the arts, culture, humanities, the environment, animal welfare, health, human services and more. Some of the organizations include Blanchet House, Junior Achievement and SOLVE.

The Standard’s Volunteer Expo is the largest in Oregon. This event also is part of The Standard’s Employee Giving Campaign celebration, which encourages employees to support eligible nonprofit organizations in their communities. Last year, employees raised $5.5 million (including a two-for-one match from the company) to support 2,168 nonprofits and schools.
