MassMutual Foundation Honors Dedication of Financial Professionals With $275,000 in Grants to Nonprofit Organizations

SPRINGFIELD, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The MassMutual Foundation has awarded $275,000 to eligible nonprofit organizations through its annual Community Service Awards (CSA) program. These charitable contributions – which include two $25,000 awards, fifteen $10,000 awards, and fifteen $5,000 awards – are given in honor of financial professionals affiliated with MassMutual who demonstrate outstanding commitment to nonprofit organizations in their local communities.

“Last year, participating financial professionals in our CSA program donated almost 18,000 hours of service to nonprofit organizations across the country,” said Dennis Duquette, president of the MassMutual Foundation. “We are proud to recognize these individuals who are making a difference in their communities and demonstrating what it means to live mutual through their volunteer efforts and dedication to the causes they support.”

This year’s two $25,000 CSA grants are being awarded to Good Neighbor Village Inc. in honor of Michael Thompson with MassMutual Greater Richmond and Corazon Inc. in honor of John Novak with MassMutual Greater Philadelphia. Good Neighbor Village is dedicated to providing an environment where adult residents, with mild to moderate intellectual disabilities, can thrive and become the best they can be while maintaining their independence. Corazon’s mission is building community by strengthening families, enabling service, promoting self-sufficiency, and inspiring mutually beneficial relationships across borders.

Additional CSA grants have been awarded to the following nonprofit organizations on behalf of the referenced financial professionals:

$10,000 Community Service Award Recipients

$5,000 Community Service Award Recipients

Since the program’s inception, almost 400 donations totaling more than $3.6 million have been donated to nonprofit organizations. The CSA program is just one of a variety of philanthropic programs sponsored by the MassMutual Foundation in support of nonprofit organizations that operate where financial professionals affiliated with MassMutual live and work.
