G2 Venture Partners promotes Neel Mehta to Partner

PORTOLA VALLEY, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Today G2 Venture Partners, a venture capital firm investing in transformative technology companies at their inflection points to build a sustainable future, announced the promotion of Neel Mehta to Partner.

Neel joined G2 Venture Partners as an Investor in August of 2021. He helped drive G2’s investment in Locus Robotics and is focused on finding the next generation of technology companies that will advance our industrial economy into the digital age. Neel leads the firm’s work in areas such as mobility and robotics, while also supporting G2’s existing portfolio of investments including Seegrid, Trove, and others.

Prior to joining G2, Neel was an early operator at Zoox, a start-up developing a fully autonomous, all-electric vehicle purpose-built for urban ride-sharing. During his five-year tenure, Neel led Strategy, Go-To-Market, Corporate Development, and FP&A teams. As a senior business leader, he supported two capital raises totaling $700M, spearheaded the decision to launch operations in Las Vegas, and built the business case for Zoox’s long-range electric powertrain strategy. Neel served on the core deal team in Zoox’s sale to Amazon, where he played key roles in negotiation, diligence, and integration.

Neel began his career at Morgan Stanley, where he partnered with top Wall Street Autos Analyst, Adam Jonas, on successful stock calls including Tesla (TSLA), Ferrari (RACE), and Fiat Chrysler (FCAU). Together, they researched disruptive trends in ride-sharing, electrification, and autonomous technology and developed frameworks to help institutional investors understand impending paradigm shifts in mobility. Prior to that, Neel was a Commodity Strategist and Equity Sales & Trading Analyst.

Neel holds a B.S. in Economics and Public Policy Studies from Duke University. He sits on the board of the Silicon Valley Chapter of the American Red Cross.
