Conning Announces New Head of North America and Other Key Promotions

New Assignments Reflect Conning’s Deep Talent Bench and Commitment to Developing and Advancing Existing Leadership

HARTFORD, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Global investment management firm Conning today announced that Matt Daly, currently head of the corporate and municipal bond teams at the firm, will become Head of Conning North America effective September 30, 2023. Daly, with over 25 years of industry experience and more than 20 of those years at Conning, will succeed Mike Haylon, who will retire at the end of 2023.

In addition, Conning is announcing that Cindy Beaulieu, Chair of Conning’s Investment Policy Committee, will assume the additional title of Chief Investment Officer of Conning North America, also on September 30, 2023. Beaulieu, with over 29 years of industry experience, has been responsible for managing insurance and institutional pension since joining Conning in 2011 and has overseen the firm’s investment strategy process since 2019. She will maintain both roles going forward.

Steve Searl, with 35 years of corporate bond research experience, and Mike Griffin, with 18 years of industry experience in portfolio management and trading, will serve as the new co-heads of the corporate and municipal teams, reporting to Daly. Haylon will remain in an advisory capacity through the end of 2023 to facilitate a smooth transition.
