Christopher Shafer Named Head of North American Cyber at OdysseyRe

STAMFORD, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Odyssey Reinsurance Company (OdysseyRe) today announced the appointment of Christopher Shafer as vice president and head of North American cyber underwriting. He will support the Company’s business partners in addressing cyber risk on both a facultative and treaty basis, offering rich product-line expertise in a critical and growing segment.

Mr. Shafer joins OdysseyRe following a decade at Guy Carpenter, where he served as vice president and previously held actuarial analyst and treaty broker roles. He began his (re)insurance career at Munich Re in 2010.

Mr. Shafer holds a Bachelor of Arts in Math and Economics from Lafayette College and a Master of Professional Studies in Cybersecurity and Information Assurance from Penn State University. He is based in Stamford, CT and reports to Mr. Quinn.
