Attabotics Issues Statement of Claim Against Canadian Tire

CALGARY, Alberta--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Attabotics, the future-proof intelligent cube storage solution for modern commerce, has filed a statement of claim in the Ontario Superior Court of Justice against Canadian Tire Corporation, Limited (Canadian Tire).

On March 15, 2023, a fire (Warehouse Fire) occurred at Canadian Tire’s facility located at 8550 Goreway Dr, Brampton, Ontario. The Attabotics Claim states that Attabotics was in no way responsible for the Warehouse Fire that took place at the Brampton warehouse.

According to the Statement of Claim, “The Warehouse Fire occurred as a direct result of the wrongful conduct, statutory breaches, breaches of contract, gross negligence, willful misconduct, negligence, and recklessness of Canadian Tire.”

Furthermore, the statement alleges, “The Warehouse Fire was caused or contributed to by the employees, contractors, subcontractors, consultants, or other personnel controlled or directed by Canadian Tire and for which Canadian Tire is vicariously liable.”

Attabotics’ claim states that as a result of the Defendant’s alleged evasiveness and obstruction, Attabotics has suffered and continues to suffer damages for which Canadian Tire is liable. Such damages are alleged to include, among other things: damages for loss of reputation, business opportunities, goodwill, market share and/or loss of profit, damages for lost Attabotics’ property, special and out-of-pocket damages, and damages for expenses and payments made to employees, consultants, and contractors.

Attabotics will not be providing further comment on this matter at this time, as it is now before the courts.
