athenahealth Names George Hamilton Chief Corporate Strategy and Development Officer

Hamilton joins athenahealth to help drive the company’s strategic and corporate development efforts

WATERTOWN, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--athenahealth, Inc., a leading provider of network-enabled software and services for medical groups and health systems nationwide, today announced that George Hamilton has joined the company as chief corporate strategy and development officer. In this role, Hamilton will oversee athenahealth’s enterprise strategy, corporate development, and Marketplace partner program teams.

Over his more than 20-year career, Hamilton has held numerous senior strategic and business development roles. Most recently he served as vice president of strategy and business development at UnitedHealth Group. Prior to UnitedHealth he was a founding partner and managing director at Intermountain Ventures, and vice president of strategy and business development for Intermountain Healthcare. Earlier in his career he served as a senior manager and knowledge expert for McKinsey & Company and executive director of strategy and business development for Cleveland Clinic.
