Custodial and Maintenance Workers at TMU to Welcome Federal NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh on Day Nine of Historic Strike

TORONTO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Federal NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh will join CUPE 233 members on the picket lines Thursday, the ninth day of their first-ever strike at Toronto Metropolitan University.

Custodial and maintenance workers have been on strike since April 17, as the TMU administration refuses to address serious concerns about the rising cost of living and pension bargaining rights, which is a broadly established standard at universities with similar pension plans in Ontario.
