Western Manufacturing Technology Show Helps Canadian Manufacturers Embrace Smart Technology, Adapt to New Business Realities to Improve Competitiveness, Profitability

MARKHAM, Ontario--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Western Manufacturing Technology Show (WMTS), scheduled for May 30 through June 1, at the Edmonton Expo Centre will help manufacturers in Western Canada embrace new Smart technology and navigate the post-pandemic business realities to help improve their competitiveness and increase their profitability.

The event will convene many of Canada’s premier manufacturers and engineering experts and will feature more than 75 industry suppliers displaying new products that include machine tools and tooling, workholding equipment, metalworking, welding, and advanced manufacturing solutions from additive manufacturing to automation, robotics, and industry 4.0. Attendees in this hands-on, dynamic environment will experience technologies and processes important to industries including oil and gas, petrochemicals, commercial machinery, construction, mining, agriculture, wind energy and aerospace.

According to Arjun Hajela, SME’s Group Manager – Events for Canada, the show is a great opportunity to spend time with industry experts and exchange ideas and information on advanced manufacturing and to take advantage of peer-to-peer networking opportunities in a relaxed environment during the afternoon receptions.

“We’re happy to be back hosting WMTS, bringing some of the most insightful and innovative leaders in manufacturing to share their knowledge with local and regional manufacturers in Western Canada,” said Hajela. “This event will expose attendees to several advanced manufacturing and metalworking developments designed to improve their quality, cost, and profitability while helping them to develop and upskill their workforce. Plus, as part of our community, they’ll get to talk and network with these innovators about their experiences.”

Hajela said WMTS offers the kind of face-to-face collaboration manufacturers need. Attendees can:

  • Discover and explore the latest products and solutions on display by leading industry suppliers and partners such as Cascade, Elliott Matsuura, Mazak, and many others, showcasing Machine Tools & Tooling, Metalworking, and Advanced Manufacturing technologies.
  • Absorb the invaluable information shared by speakers specifically selected for your market, including Shauna Feth, President and CEO of the Alberta Chambers of Commerce, and other SMART sessions by exhibitors.
  • Take advantage of face-to-face networking opportunities – make valuable connections and conversations at end-of-day Receptions from 3 to 5 pm on Day 1 and Day 2 of WMTS 2023.
