Kure Opens Dedicated Ketamine Infusion Therapy Facility in Los Angeles

Evidence-based, medically monitored treatments administered in a safe, healing environment aim to address root causes of mental and chronic physical health issues

SANTA MONICA, Calif.--()--Southern California-based ketamine infusion clinic Kure has officially opened its doors at 2730 Wilshire Blvd., Suite 425 in Santa Monica. Kure helps patients in L.A. and surrounding areas live fuller lives through dedicated ketamine therapy that meets the growing demand for effective solutions to treat mental health conditions.

As someone who has been surveying the quality of specialty surgery centers for seven years, I’m taking what extensive safety principals I’ve learned and applying them to how we treat patients here at Kure,” said Dr. Steve Yun, medical director of Kure and a safety inspector for the American Association for Accreditation of Ambulatory Surgery Facilities. “Our staff are trained in advanced cardiovascular life support, specialize in psychiatry, and have backgrounds in emergency medicine and various clinical fields to ensure prompt intervention in the rare case it’s ever needed.”

Dr. Yun is a board-certified anesthesiologist. He prides himself on providing the gold standard of ketamine therapy and has successfully treated those suffering from chronic treatment-resistant depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety, PTSD, and substance use disorders for several years. Working alongside Yun is a team of board-certified psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioners. With more than 50 years of combined experience, Kure’s comprehensive approach focuses on the patient's whole being – mind, body, and spirit.

My co-founder Deanna and I set out to create a different kind of ketamine clinic – a truly safe and comfortable space that provides objective-oriented relief to patients,” shared Yale Badik, co-founder of Kure and an independent film producer known for films such as the Oscar-winning ‘Blade Runner 2049’, Jerry Bruckheimer’s ‘12 Strong’, and Ridley Scott's ‘Mark Felt: The Man Who Brought Down the White House’.

The Kure clinic was curated with the needs of patients in mind. Every effort was made to ensure complete comfort by investing in the highest quality zero-gravity infusion chairs, noise-canceling headphones, customized playlists, plush rocking chairs and pillows and soft ambient lighting. During pre- and post-treatment, patients have use of a relaxation room for yoga, breathwork and meditation, which is essential to comfort and safety. Patients can also have a mental health care provider sit with them and guide them through their treatment, or they can make use of a dual treatment room that allows them to infuse alongside a friend, family member, or significant other if that makes them more comfortable.

Ketamine has long been used and is still being used as a useful agent for dissociative anesthesia in hospitalized children, adolescents and young adults. Studies have shown its wide range of safe dosing makes it an attractive option, and its respiratory and cardiovascular preservation of function makes it preferable to other modes of sedation in patients with significant underlying illness. Administration of low-dose ketamine must occur under the direct supervision of a physician or by a trained and experienced certified registered nurse anesthetist.

Kure is open by appointment Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. As a licensed medical facility, Kure meets all state and federal regulations. To learn more, please visit kureketamine.com, call 424-238-5533 or email info@kureketamine.com.
