Ed Freedman’s Stable Road Foundation Nominated for Los Angeles Business Journal’s 2023 Nonprofit & Corporate Citizenship Award

LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Stable Road Foundation, along with its founder and chairman Ed Freedman, is proud to announce its nomination for the Los Angeles Business Journal’s 2023 Nonprofit & Corporate Citizenship Award.

Founded in 1979, the Los Angeles Business Journal has a long-established reputation as one of the region’s leading advocates for results-driven philanthropy and responsible corporate governance. Its annual awards recognize the most innovative and impactful nonprofits and founders in the greater Los Angeles area.

“At Stable Road Foundation, we’re motivated by our desire to ‘feel the impact,’” says Freedman. “Our partnerships have opened up a world of possibilities for underprivileged children, their families, and the community at large. It’s an honor to be considered for this award, because it shows that Stable Road Foundation is improving people’s lives in tangible, sustainable ways.”

Stable Road Foundation works with a wide variety of organizations both in Los Angeles and around the world. The Foundation’s partnership with THERAsurf—a Los Angeles-based collective of professional surfers who help children with special needs learn to surf and experience the healing power of the ocean—was of particular interest to the Los Angeles Business Journal when considering the Foundation’s nomination.

“At THERAsurf we believe that we can offer a safe ocean experience that will create friendships and memories that last a lifetime,” says Kevin McCarthy, vice president of THERAsurf. “In order to do this we align ourselves with like minded groups such as the Stable Road Foundation. Stable Road Foundation helps support our mission so that we can provide THERAsurf clinics around the world at zero cost to the families that surf with us.”

As part of Stable Road Foundation’s years-long partnership with THERAsurf, the Foundation recently made a substantial donation to help THERAsurf put on its 2023 flagship event.
