ETHDenver Breaks Attendance Records and Unveils Spin-off Plans

The world’s largest Ethereum event had a total attendance of more than 48,000 February 24-March 5

DENVER--(BUSINESS WIRE)--ETHDenver, the world’s largest and longest-running annual Blockchain/Web3 event grew 50% this year, recording its largest attendance in history with a total of 48,000 (15,000 unique) from 115 countries.

Also referred to as an Innovation Festival, ETHDenver began March 2nd, featuring 800 industry speakers, 168 blockchain/Web3 companies represented at sponsorship booths, and over 600 team members & staff. Surprise guest, Billboard Top 100 charting musical talent Polyphia, as well as closing party headliners Latashá and Slushii also performed. The event as a whole brought an estimated $70M to the Colorado & Denver economies through travel, hotels, dining, entertainment, events, and more.

ETHDenver’s main event #BUIDLathon (aka hackathon) brought 6,000 individual competitors, and resulted in almost 400 projects submitted for judging. 18 project finalists were named, receiving prize money of over $100K with an estimated total of nearly $1M in bounties & prizes awarded to all teams. In his closing remarks, John Paller, ETHDenver’s founder & executive steward, hinted at growing beyond Denver in 2024. Following the success and positive revenue of this year’s event, the organizers are in talks with locations globally to expand the event footprint worldwide as they focus their efforts on bringing more developers to the space.
