D.A. Davidson Names Liam Healy Head of Institutional Equities

CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--D.A. Davidson & Co. is pleased to announce that veteran equities professional Liam Healy has joined the Equity Capital Markets Group as Head of Institutional Equities. Based in Chicago, Healy will oversee Research, Sales & Trading, Corporate Access, Corporate Services, and the Davidson Expert Network. Healy has over 30 years of institutional equity experience on Wall Street, including most recently at William Blair & Company, where he was a Partner and led the New York institutional equity sales group.

“Liam’s deep background, his strength of relationships, and ability to recruit and retain talent, coupled with a relentless work ethic, make him a great fit for our team and our future business goals,” said Rory McKinney, President of Equity Capital Markets at D.A. Davidson. “Under his direction, we will develop processes that significantly grow our equities revenues and further monetize research, corporate access, and other advisory relationships.”

“I am honored to join a firm whose primary objective is to provide superior outcomes for clients with differentiated proprietary products and first-rate investment ideas,” commented Liam Healy, Head of Institutional Equities at D.A. Davidson. “We see a unique opportunity to become the preeminent middle-market full-service platform, with our current areas of coverage across consumer, diversified industrials, financial institutions, and technology serving as a foundation for future growth. We believe the current market backdrop creates tremendous opportunities to expand our market share in all aspects of our Equity Capital Markets business. Additionally, I look forward to working with the team to expand our Davidson Expert Network, an exclusive expert offering for our buy-side clients, by increasing the expert base and offering tangential verticals. Finally, our go-to-market strategy will emphasize a proprietary work product, and we will introduce a fresh, unique investment philosophy.”

With a senior team of 21 research analysts that cover over 500 public and private companies (with its proprietary Bison Select focus list) across four major industries, D.A. Davidson is widely recognized for providing institutional clients with timely investment ideas supported by insightful analysis. “Our Institutional Equities business aims to bring quality companies and investors together, and our goal is to identify factors that will drive values and create investment opportunities. Healy will help position our core strengths to market and deliver thought leadership and superior service to help our global clients execute their strategic goals,” continued McKinney.

Prior to his 20 years at William Blair, Healy worked at JP Morgan, First Union Securities, Chicago Corporation/ABN-AMRO, and Mesirow Financial.
