DirectDefense Announces Strong Growth in 2022 Driven by Rapid Adoption of Its Connected Systems and Professional Services Offerings

New additions to the leadership team helped DirectDefense deliver on its strategic goals

DENVER--()--DirectDefense, Inc., an information security services company, today announced that it has recorded approximately 30% growth across its services offerings in 2022. The connected systems/SCADA division grew by 100% year-over-year and the professional services division nearly doubled its yearly revenue as well.

Market catalysts for DirectDefense’s growth included the need to protect critical infrastructure from attackers, the challenge of monitoring and securing increasingly complex IT environments, the difficulty in keeping pace with sophisticated threats and bad actors, and the much-discussed security talent shortage. With a proven approach and leading-edge technology, DirectDefense can identify and remediate the security challenges organizations face.

The managed security services (MSSP) division had nearly 100% customer retention and for the third year in a row, DirectDefense was named to CRN’s MSP 500 list in the Security 100 category. The list recognizes the top technology providers and consultants whose forward-thinking approach to providing managed services is changing the landscape of the IT channel. DirectDefense also integrated the Halcyon anti-ransomware platform into the DirectDefense MSSP offering.

In 2022, DirectDefense expanded its management team through promotions and new hires to position for future growth. Key promotions include Nina Haimoff to Vice President of Sales, Jennifer Anderson to Vice President of Operations, Phil Brass to Vice President of Professional Services, Kevin Overcash to Vice President of Product Management, and Kelly Kish to Vice President of Marketing. Rick Tillery joined DirectDefense as Director of the company’s growing MSSP program and Justin Karnousky was appointed Regional Vice President of Sales for the Central U.S.

In May, Jared Ballou joined the firm as Vice President of Business Development, responsible for driving strategic partnerships to support the company’s growth and business strategy. During his tenure, Ballou signed nearly 50% more channel partners, increased channel revenue by 10%, and was recently named a 2023 CRN Channel Chief. This list honors the IT channel executives who work tirelessly to advance the channel agenda and deliver successful channel partner programs and strategies.

“Many businesses lack the expertise and resources to secure themselves against the onslaught of security threats in increasingly complex environments,” said Jim Broome, President and Chief Technology Officer for DirectDefense. “DirectDefense’s growth and expansion in an uncertain economy is a testament to the strong value proposition of our customized security services and proven delivery model. With the right team in place, we are well positioned to achieve our goals for 2023.”
