Lucidea Press Publishes New Title for Archivists and Archival Professionals

VANCOUVER, British Columbia--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Lucidea has announced that archives expert Margot Note’s new book, Lucidea’s Lens: Archivists and Archival Professionals; The Digital Decisive Moment: Transformative Digitization Practices will be available on Jan 30th, 2023. The latest publication from Lucidea Press offers pragmatic advice from Ms. Note, a seasoned archives and records expert, consultant, and author, regular blogger, and popular webinar presenter.

Archivists have entered the digital decisive moment, where digitized and born-digital images have substantially departed from the legacy of analog materials. This book provides a foundation related to digitizing historical materials. It intends to be a reference for institutions converting resources to digital form while maintaining both analog and digital collections. The book advocates integrated initiatives, from selection to access to preservation, emphasizing the intersection of objectives and applications. Readers will learn to define their project needs, evaluate their options, and manage the digitization process.

Margot Note has 20 years of experience in the national and international sectors as an author, a consultant, a Certified Archivist, a Certified Records Manager, and an Information Governance Professional. She received her Master of Arts in Women’s History from Sarah Lawrence College, and holds a Master’s in Library and Information Science and a Post-Master’s in Archives & Records Management, both from Drexel University. Margot is also a popular guest author for Lucidea’s Think Clearly Blog, and regularly presents Lucidea-sponsored webinars on topics highly relevant to archivists. Her previous books for Lucidea Press include Demystifying Archival Projects: Five Essentials for Success, The Archivists’ Advantage: Choosing the Right CMS, and Digital Preservation Without Tears.

Says Ron Aspe, Lucidea’s CEO, “We’re excited to bring you the latest book in our “Lucidea’s Lens” series; we believe it’s an essential resource for archival professionals seeking to meet the “digital decisive moment”, with pragmatic guidance drawn from Margot’s career as a practitioner, consultant, innovator, and advocate.”
