Alsana Expands Eating Disorder Recovery Programs with New Alsana Connect™ Virtual Experience

ST. LOUIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Eating disorder recovery community and treatment provider Alsana has announced Alsana Connect, a new virtual eating disorder recovery experience. With a focus on convenience, it provides participants with the power to incorporate eating disorder treatment into their daily lives through a secure, engaging, user-friendly telehealth experience.

Acting as an extension to partial hospitalization programs (PHP) and intensive outpatient programs (IOP), Alsana Connect provides a care option at the outpatient level for individuals transitioning from a higher level of care or those in need of earlier intervention while in individual therapy. The program allows clients to remain in direct communication with their outpatient team during virtual treatment.

With its flexible, virtual programs, Alsana Connect offers morning, mid-day, and evening telehealth sessions with schedules that can be customized each week in order to fit into the rhythm of clients’ lives. Because recovery is greatly enhanced by community, participants are placed in milieus with other virtual patients. Clients have access to supportive materials through the platform, such as videos, collateral, and relevant articles and care is provided by a compassion-focused, licensed care team with experience treating eating disorders in the virtual space.

“Our virtual care team’s leadership is solely dedicated to this new program,” said Nicole Garber, Alsana chief medical officer. “They are equipped with the training and certifications needed to provide excellent, lifesaving care to our patients, whether they are struggling with a long-term eating disorder or are enrolled for early intervention.”

The virtual care program is designed to increase access to care for individuals whose full-time work, school or other commitments make it challenging to participate in PHP or IOP recovery programs, and for those who do not have geographical access to in-person care. Clients receive virtual treatment provided by Master’s-level clinicians licensed in the state where the client is located.
