University of Phoenix Announces Second Annual Inclusive Leadership Summit and Career Fair Focused on Developing Skills in Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging (DEIB)

Virtual event focused on DEIB highlights mental health and belonging, includes career fair, networking opportunities, workshops, and research presentations

PHOENIX--(BUSINESS WIRE)--University of Phoenix will hold its second annual Inclusive Leadership Summit and Career Fair, May 2-4, 2023, focused on developing skills as an inclusive leader and providing opportunities for networking connection and employment. Titled “Developing a Culture of Belonging: Prioritizing Social and Emotional Well-Being,” the virtual event is free, open to the public, and is designed to bring together participants and leaders across industries to explore how to prioritize mental health and belonging at the core of strategic operations in the workplace.

“The Inclusive Leadership Summit & Career Fair reflects University of Phoenix leadership and commitment to life-long learning and workforce development,” states Chris Lynne, president of University of Phoenix. “The Summit provides an opportunity for us to explore, together as a community, how a diverse workforce and each individual’s potential can be enriched through creating a culture of belonging.”

Attendees will have access to the Career Fair as well as in-depth workshops, research presentations and choose industry-focused tracks: Leadership & Management, Healthcare and Education. They will have the opportunity to engage with industry experts and receive empowering messages from leaders in the field including corporate diversity officers, scholars, and leadership development professionals. In addition, attendees will identify and share best practices to address aspects of trauma, accessibility, post-pandemic challenges, and ongoing social and systemic issues that hinder performance and retention.

This year’s event includes a special seminar for workforce diversity leaders, supporting the advancement and empowerment of employee resource group (ERG) or business resource group (BRG) leaders, ERG or BRG sponsors and emerging leaders who serve in workforce areas related to diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging. Participants will engage in facilitated conversations about workforce trends and acquire the tools necessary to become effective inclusive leaders in the workplace.

The Inclusive Leadership Summit integrates research findings from University of Phoenix Career Institute® and Research Centers to influence topics addressed while highlighting academic fields of study offered at the University.

Participants can also earn digital badges highlighting inclusive leadership skills to share on resumes, social platforms and more. University of Phoenix has approached the mapping of skills within the curriculum and recognition through digital badges as a matter of equity as well as career mobility, where students are able to provide evidence of their acquired skills and share those achievements and academic progress in their networks, and to their employers.

University of Phoenix supports students as working adults with diverse experiences and backgrounds through other policies such as its tuition guarantee, delivering affordable and competitive tuition costs that are transparent and predictable, providing generous transfer policies and a supportive transfer pathway to all students, and the opportunity for students to earn college credit for prior learning through life and work experiences.
