Alain De Coster Is Retiring From ABS Global Investments

GREENWICH, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--ABS Global Investments (“ABS”) announced earlier this month that Alain De Coster, who founded the firm together with Laurence Russian and Guilherme Valle, will be stepping down from his role at the firm at year-end. Mr. De Coster will remain an ABS shareholder and continue to consult on hedge fund strategies for ABS.

Mr. De Coster said, “Throughout our progression from Banco Garantia to Credit Suisse and then the founding of ABS in 2002 with Laurence and Guilherme, we have been blessed to have built a great team and an impressive organization. I look forward to watching its continued success.”

With 39 employees, including 21 partners, ABS manages a wide range of active equity strategies across global markets. “We are truly grateful to have worked with Alain since the mid-nineties, culminating in our founding of ABS twenty years ago,” said Mr. Russian.

Mr. Valle added, “Alain has been a great mentor and partner who leaves behind a strong legacy at ABS. Our emphasis on meritocracy, the spirit of true partnership and the unrelenting drive to improve and innovate were all core principles espoused by Alain from inception. The values Alain helped embed in our corporate culture have driven excellence across all firm functions, diversity of thought, and high retention rates.”
