Eco Expo Asia 2022 returns in December with the theme “Green Innovations for Carbon Neutrality”

Outlook promising as Hong Kong withdraws hotel quarantine

HONG KONG--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Eco Expo Asia 2022, jointly organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council and Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd and co-organised by the Environment and Ecology Bureau of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, will launch from 14 to 17 December at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. The expo will be held under the brand-new EXHIBITION+ hybrid model, helping exhibitors and buyers extend interactions from physical fair to the online platform “Click2Match” until 24 December, assisting enterprises to explore “green opportunities” proactively online and offline.

From September 26, the Hong Kong SAR Government ended compulsory quarantine on arrival with its “0+3” new policy, inbound travellers no longer need to do the pre-flight PCR test and quarantine in a designated hotel. Travellers with an amber code during the three days of medical surveillance can be allowed to access business-related events.”

The theme of Eco Expo Asia 2022 is “Green Innovations for Carbon Neutrality”, focusing on the technological innovations that help decarbonise the world. As an important event for the environmental industry, the expo this year will host more than 200 exhibitors from nine countries and regions in nine thematic zones ranging from green transportation to green finance and more, facilitating exchange and cooperation between different industries under the eco umbrella.

Three country and region pavilions will be returning this year including the Canada, Hong Kong and Japan pavilions. The Japan pavilion will grow significantly in size featuring around 30 exhibitors with their latest products, solutions and technologies in green transportation, resource upcycling, as well as green finance and ESG, representing the best of Japanese innovation.

The annual Eco Asia Conference is a not-to-be-missed part. Heavyweight speakers will share their views on “Circular Business Model”, “Hydrogen Economy”, “Retro-fit for Building Energy Efficiency” and “Green & Sustainable Finance”.

The expo will open its doors to the public on the last day to promote green living, with visitors able to participate in environmental workshops, green mart and seminar.
