Tactyc, the First Portfolio Forecasting and Planning Software for Venture Capital, Launches Globally

The SaaS platform that provides a solution for venture funds to construct, manage and forecast their portfolios is officially launching - enabling data-driven managers to transition beyond spreadsheets.

MORRISVILLE, N.C.--()--Tactyc, the first software solution to address venture capital portfolio forecasting and planning, today announced its official launch alongside a Seed investment of $1.5 million. The funding was led by MaC Venture Capital, a leading seed-stage investment firm, and 4DX Ventures, a Pan-Africa focused venture capital firm, with participation from other leading investors. Tactyc is entering the market with over 160 clients globally ranging from emerging managers to multi-billion dollar funds and corporate venture arms. The company has more than doubled its revenue in the last five months.

Tactyc was founded in 2019 by Anubhav Srivastava, a Wharton MBA who set out to solve many of the pain points fund managers face today in building and maintaining complex spreadsheet models for their portfolios. Tactyc’s platform simplifies the “portfolio construction” process from weeks to minutes. It also enables managers to forecast and manage existing portfolios with powerful GP analytics such as optimal reserve management and probabilistic scenario modeling.

“We've seen that data-driven workflows are a leading indicator of actual fund performance,” says Anubhav Srivastava. “However, these analyses today still require complicated spreadsheets that are difficult to build and maintain. The spreadsheet ecosystem is also not flexible enough for real-time insights and scenario planning. Tactyc solves this with a seamless solution that combines sophisticated portfolio construction and management. VC’s now have real-time insights on actual and projected performance combined with answers to commonly asked questions around reserves and exit scenarios. We are empowering every VC to deploy data-driven workflows at their fund quickly and without touching a spreadsheet.”

“What Tactyc is providing for the market is an unparalleled asset to the VC industry,” says Mike Palank, General Partner at MaC Venture Capital. “Portfolio construction is such a crucial component of any successful VC and acts as the blueprint for any future plans. Not only does the platform provide tools to construct and manage portfolios, but also plays an active role in the portfolio's overall success by offering actionable insights to improve returns. This is a total game-changer.”

“At 4DX Ventures, we’re deeply aware of how critical data-driven portfolio construction is in determining overall returns and optimizing risk,” says Raaid Ahmad, Managing Partner at 4DX Ventures. “In our product evaluation as a client, we were impressed with the sophistication of Tactyc’s data model, which enables the modeling of advanced concepts like capital recycling, future deployment scenarios, and granular company outcomes. That depth combined with the rate at which Anubhav’s lean team was releasing features led us to progress from evaluating Tactyc as a customer to becoming a customer, and ultimately to investing in the company.”
