First Command Recruits Retired Army General for Company Leadership

Michael Garrett becomes newest retired flag officer to join the First Command Board of Directors

FORT WORTH, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--First Command Financial Services, Inc., announced today that retired Army Gen. Michael Garrett has joined the company’s board of directors, effective Nov. 4.

Gen. Garrett experienced a long and distinguished military career, culminating with his service as the commanding general of the U.S. Army Forces Command from 2019 to his retirement this year. He is the newest retired flag officer to join the company’s board of directors. Others include:

  • Vice Adm. Jody A. Breckenridge, U.S. Coast Guard
  • Vice Adm. Barry M. Costello, U.S. Navy
  • Lt. Gen. John F. Sattler, U.S. Marine Corps
