York Capital-Backed Healthcare Linen Services Group Acquires Reino Linen Service

Expands Reach into Ohio and Michigan Markets

ST CHARLES, Ill.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Healthcare Linen Services Group (“HLSG” or the “Company”), a portfolio company of York Capital Management's private equity group ("York Private Equity") and a leading provider of mission-critical healthcare laundry services in the Midwest and Central United States, today announced it has acquired Reino Linen Service (“Reino”), a premier provider of healthcare linen solutions. The acquisition expands HLSG’s operations into the attractive Ohio and Michigan markets, expanding its customer base and adding automated facilities that provide additional capacity to its existing footprint throughout the Midwest. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Founded in 1943, Reino is a leading independent healthcare linen solutions provider that has the capacity to process more than 150 million pounds of laundry annually for hospitals and healthcare facilities. Reino’s strategically located facilities in Brownstone, MI, Kalamazoo, MI, and Gibsonburg, OH allow the company to deliver high-quality service to long-term customers. Reino is well regarded in the industry for its operational track record, industry expertise and data-driven approach to reduce waste, improve outcomes and increase communication with its customers. Daniel Darr, President of Reino, will continue in a key leadership role as the Vice President of Strategy of HLSG.

Following this transaction, HLSG now operates 14 state-of-the-art processing plants across five premier regional brands – Logan’s Linens (Shelbyville, KY), Logan’s Uniform Rental (Shelbyville, KY), Superior Health Linens (Cudahy, WI), Textile Care Services (Rochester, MN), and now Reino (Gibsonburg, OH) – that process 250 million pounds of healthcare linen on an annual basis for over 500 customers in 14 states.

“We are proud to welcome the Reino team to the HLSG family as we continue to execute on our M&A growth strategy, and we are excited about expanding and investing in the combined platform,” said Seth Pearson, Managing Director of York Private Equity.

“Reino, our third acquisition in 2022 following the strategic investment from York Private Equity, has built a solid business and will add significant expertise in Ohio and Michigan,” said Joe LaPorta, President and CEO of HLSG. “We look forward to maintaining Reino’s rich legacy of providing exceptional service to customers and employees.”

Daniel Darr, President of Reino, added, “We are thrilled to be joining the HLSG family, which has developed an outstanding reputation in the industry for its commitment to providing high-quality services. Importantly, HLSG shares our commitment to ensuring the long-term success of our customers and valued employees, and they are the right partner for Reino.”

York Private Equity made a strategic growth investment in HLSG in March 2022, the seventh in its middle-market private equity fund, York Special Opportunities Fund III, L.P., an $800 million dedicated fund raised in April 2020. York Private Equity seeks to partner with founders and entrepreneurs to help facilitate and support organic and inorganic growth in industries such as healthcare services, financial and business services, consumer/retail, and industrials.
