Athenian Group, City of Fort Worth Host Groundbreaking for Future City Hall

HOUSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The well-attended groundbreaking for the Future City Hall at 100 Energy Way on September 15, 2022 showcased the plans for the new building. Athenian Group, the program managers of the project, has a plan in place to meet the key objectives of this reimagined space including consolidating City staff and functions, a redesign and renovation, new construction of the City Council Chambers and hybrid floor plans.

Every department in the city is involved with this project and maintains the objectives of creating the building sustainably and cost-efficiently. The speakers at the historic event for the city emphasized the goal of creating a welcoming and flexible space.

“This is going to be more than just a city building," said Mattie Parker, Mayor of Fort Worth. “This is going to be a place where the entire community can gather with their children and entire family and feel really proud of their community.”

The previous City Hall opened in 1971 and was home to the city for more than 50 years. The sleek, high class look and feel is a quality the teams working on the new building hope to maintain.

“Everything you see that is going to happen, demo-wise, renovation-wise, is going to be focused on making sure that everyone in the City of Fort Worth feels welcomed here,” said Tanyan Farley, Director at Athenian Group.

The estimated completion date is early 2024.
