University of Phoenix and Native American Basketball Invitational (NABI) Announce the Full-tuition NABI Foundation Ernest L. Stevens, Jr. – University of Phoenix Scholarship

Tribal recipient can pursue a bachelor’s or master’s degree at University of Phoenix

PHOENIX--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Native American Basketball Invitational (NABI) and University of Phoenix are pleased to announce the full-tuition NABI Foundation Ernest L. Stevens, Jr. – University of Phoenix Scholarship. The scholarship is named after NABI’s current Chairman Ernie Stevens, Jr., MM, who has dedicated most of his life supporting tribal education, sports, and gaming. He has been active in supporting NABI on many levels since its inception in 2003, is a graduate of the University of Phoenix Master of Management program and is also serving in his 21st year as the Chairman of the National Indian Gaming Association.

“While earning my master’s in management degree at the University of Phoenix, the Tribal Specialists were invaluable with support and provided resources that helped me stay engaged and on track for graduation,” shares Stevens. “I am honored that the scholarship will offer the opportunity for other tribal students to pursue their educational goals.”

This is the first year the scholarship will be offered; it is a single recipient full-tuition scholarship for a bachelor’s or master’s degree at the University of Phoenix and covers electronic resource fees.

Eligibility:

  • Applicants must have participated in NABI in the timeframe between 2003 and 2022 and provide their year of participation.
  • The scholarship application is open until October 31, 2022.
