Adam Breneman Joins Mercury as Vice President of NIL

The former 3x Division 1 All American tight end, former Power 5 coach, and sports media personality will work directly with top athletes to cultivate personal brands on the company's exclusive platforms

BOSTON--()--Mercury, a leading digital brand experience company for top athletes and devoted fans across teams and leagues, announced today the hiring of Adam Breneman as Vice President of NIL.

Breneman will work directly with athletes within the Mercury network on personal brand building, source opportunities for new athletes to join the network, and generate opportunities for fans to interact with the athletes in-line with the NCAA’s recent “name, image, and likeness” rule changes.

"Building meaningful relationships with top athletes helps us create authentic experiences to bring fans closer to the game, and Adam's All-American collegiate career and effective personal branding makes him the perfect fit for our team," said Porter Grieve, CEO of Mercury. "He will not only build our roster of athletes but directly work with them on long-term personal brands that will, in turn, create engagement opportunities for sports fans that cannot be replicated anywhere else."

From its start, Mercury has placed a dedicated focus on working with athletes to elevate their personalities within its specialized fan communities. This approach has led to highly engaged team platforms among fans, universities, and community members. Through Breneman’s own successful brand development as a sports media personality, he will mentor athletes in the Mercury network with a focus on creating long-term value.

Mercury is leading the charge in the NIL space by curating fan experiences and working with athletes to engage directly with the communities that want to interact with them,” said Breneman. “Joining the Mercury team is the best way for me to become more involved in athlete brand building in a way that aligns with my values and helps athletes monetize their name, image and likeness.”

Breneman’s hire comes as Mercury is set to announce a new slate of partnerships with some of the top universities and teams in the country.

The company currently serves as the engine behind fast-growing platforms, such as University of Kentucky’s Blue Chips platform and University of Kansas’ Rock Chalk platform, two specialized digital experience communities.

Breneman wrote a post to detail his new role and highlight the ways in which Mercury is allowing athletes to capitalize on NIL opportunities.
