New York Veterinarians Now Can Order Office-Use Compounds from FDA-Registered Outsourcing Facility, Wedgewood Connect

SWEDESBORO, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The New York State regulatory authorities have issued a license to Wedgewood Connect (San Jose CA) to offer compounded medications for office use to veterinarians in New York. Wedgewood Connect is the FDA-registered 503(B) Outsourcing Facility owned by Wedgewood Pharmacy, the largest, most-trusted compounding pharmacy in the U.S. devoted to animal health.

“Our ability to offer preparations from both a 503B Outsourcing Facility and our traditional state-regulated pharmacies will give our customers in New York a broader range of options designed to meet their specific needs. This capability will further our vision of improving the lives of animals and those who love them,” said Marcy A. Bliss, CEO of Wedgewood Pharmacy.

Paul Yamamoto, vice president of Pharmacy Services and pharmacist-in-charge for Wedgewood Connect, added, “Veterinary practices, clinics, and animal hospitals need medications on hand for immediate use to treat urgent issues and emergencies. Now, the thousands of veterinarians in New York have a high-quality, reliable, FDA-registered source for the compounded medications they need, provided by the most-trusted leader in veterinary compounding.”

Medications compounded by Wedgewood Connect also may be dispensed on a patient-specific basis by Wedgewood Pharmacy’s state-licensed pharmacies.

Compounded medications are medicines customized to the unique needs of animals whose needs cannot be met by FDA-approved, mass-manufactured drugs as determined by a veterinarian.
