Aramark Named One of the Best Places to Work for Disability Inclusion; Scores 100% on Disability Equality Index

Aramark CEO Signs Letter Committing to Advance Disability Inclusion and Equality

PHILADELPHIA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aramark (NYSE: ARMK), a global leader in food, facilities management, and uniforms, was named one the “Best Places to Work for Disability Inclusion,” for the sixth year in a row, by the 2022 Disability Equality Index® (DEI), earning a top score of 100%.

The DEI is a joint initiative of Disability:IN and the American Association of People with Disabilities (AAPD) and is acknowledged as the most comprehensive disability inclusion assessment tool. It is designed to help companies build a roadmap of measurable, tangible actions they can take to achieve disability inclusion and equality.

This month, Aramark Chief Executive Officer, John Zillmer, joined a coalition of 100+ CEOs as a signatory of Disability:IN’s CEO Letter on Disability Inclusion, showing Aramark’s commitment to advancing disability inclusion and equality.

“People are the cornerstone of everything we do. Building an inclusive, accessible, and equitable workplace, where all our employees can thrive and grow their careers, is essential to the success of our company,” said Zillmer. “I am proud to sign Disability:IN’s CEO letter and am even more proud Aramark has again been named one the Best Places to Work for Disability Inclusion.”

“Disability inclusion is a rapidly expanding aspect of corporate culture, and it’s gratifying to partner with 415 companies on the 2022 Disability Equality Index,” said Jill Houghton, President and CEO of Disability:IN. “These top-scoring companies not only excel in disability inclusion, many are also adopting emerging trends and pioneering measures that can move the disability agenda from accommodation to inclusion and ultimately, genuine belonging."

As reported in its 2021 Be Well. Do Well. Impact Report, Aramark has made significant strides in its diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts. These efforts are guided by thousands of employees, in eleven employee resource groups (ERGs), including Aramark Thrive, which is dedicated to the interest of team members who self-identify as having a disability and for caretakers and advocates of those with disabilities. Thrive’s mission is to advance acceptance, equity, allyship, and inclusion of people with disabilities, providing meaningful opportunities to thrive.

In addition to the DEI, Aramark has long been recognized by institutions focused on promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion, including being named a Top 50 Employer for People with Disabilities, by CAREERS & disABLED Magazine, one of DiversityInc’s Top 50 Companies for Diversity and a Top Company for Employee Resource Groups, and a Best Place to Work for LGBTQ+ Equality, with a perfect score on the Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s 2022 Corporate Equality Index.
