Mitel 600dt Series Handsets Named “Business Phone System of the Year” by RemoteTech Breakthrough Awards

Annual awards recognize the world’s best technology powering remote work

SUNNYVALE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Mitel®, a global leader in business communications, today announced its recently released 600dt series Digital Enhanced Cordless Technology (DECT) handsets, which are built with plastics protected with BioCote® antimicrobial technology, have been named “Business Phone System of the Year” in the 2022 RemoteTech Breakthrough Awards. This is the third year in a row a Mitel Unified Communications solution has won in this category.

RemoteTech Breakthrough is a leading independent market intelligence and recognition platform. Their annual awards recognize top remote technology solutions based on comprehensive evaluations. This year’s award program attracted more than 1,700 nominations from over 15 different countries around the globe.

Mitel’s 612dt, 622dt and 632dt DECT handsets are designed to meet the unique needs of those working in demanding high-touch environments like hospitals, hospitality, and manufacturing. Protected with antimicrobial plastics, the phones are designed with an improved housing quality for extraordinary robustness that is verified in independent laboratories. The headsets also feature built-in security and reliability features which serve to safeguard an organization’s data by leveraging advanced DECT security standards, secure signaling and voice encryption.

“Product innovation has been a core part of Mitel’s mission for decades and this award is further evidence of our continued commitment to develop products which meet our customer’s needs where they need them most – whether it be in a hospital or on a plant floor,” said Martin Bitzinger, senior vice president of product management and marketing at Mitel. “Mitel is proud to be a leader in the design and manufacture of DECT solutions and winning RemoteTech’s Breakthrough award for the third consecutive year clearly illustrates why customers around the world trust Mitel every day for their unified communications needs, whether it be with on-premise or cloud solutions.”

Mitel’s 600dt series handsets deliver a more reliable connection than GSM to base stations by using DECT technology which operates in a dedicated frequency band. This shields communications from network interference and makes 600dt handsets a great option for healthcare environments and other professional environments which require better durability and excellent voice quality.

“Security is now of utmost importance to effectively safeguard an organization’s data as well as end-user privacy. Additionally, reliable communication assistants such as phones need advanced functionality, intuitive operation, tried-and-tested ergonomics, and in environments such as hospitals they need to be sanitary as well,” said Bryan Vaughn, Managing Director of RemoteTech Breakthrough Awards. “The 600dt handsets from Mitel deliver the functionality and ruggedness required in industries like hospitals, hospitality, manufacturing, and other tough working environments and helps ensure employees can call one another anywhere, anytime. Congratulations on your third ‘Business Phone System of the Year’ award.”
