Northwell Rated No. 1 Health System Among Best Workplaces in New York

NEW HYDE PARK, N.Y.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Northwell Health has been rated the No. 1 health system – and the ninth-best company overall among large organizations – in the just-released Best Workplaces in New York 2022 list by Great Place to Work.

Great Place to Work, an authority on workplace culture, used the feedback representing more than 1 million employees nationwide to compile the latest rankings. The 60-question survey examined companies headquartered in the New York Metro area, which includes Connecticut, New Jersey and New York State.

The survey considered the employee experience by trust, respect, credibility, fairness, pride and camaraderie. Northwell was ranked in the large company category, which features organizations with more than 1,000 employees.

“We’re proud to be known as a Great Place to Work,” said Joseph Moscola, PA, executive vice president of enterprise services at Northwell. “The mission is an important one – keeping the communities we serve healthy. We raise the health of our communities and our team members. Being known as an organization that cares deeply for our employees is something every team member at Northwell Health can feel satisfied with, especially after the amazing care they delivered during the pandemic, which hit New Yorkers particularly hard.”

The survey found that 84 percent of Northwell employees consider the health system a great place to work, well above the Great Place to Work average of 57 percent. In addition, about 90 percent of Northwell staff “feel good about the way we contribute to the community” and “feel a sense of pride” about what we accomplish.

The latest accolade follows Fortune magazine’s “100 Best Companies to Work For” list, which in April included Northwell Health for the third consecutive year. Northwell placed 75th overall, signifying it as one of America’s leading employers across industries with a distinctive and high-quality workplace culture. Northwell was the only health system recognized by Fortune in New York State.

Also in 2022, Northwell was named the best health system in America for diversity by DiversityInc. The health system also was recognized as one of the World’s Most Innovative Companies for 2022 by Fast Company.
