Priority Health Announces Vice Presidents of Government Markets

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich.--()--Following a nationwide search, Priority Health, Michigan’s fastest growing health plan, has appointed Kyla King as vice president of Individual markets, and Scott Norman as vice president for Medicare.

“Kyla and Scott each have a long history of success and are passionate about improving the health and well-being of others,” said Joyce Chan Russell, senior vice president of government markets at Priority Health. “I am confident their leadership will support us in achieving our ambitious goals for government markets and for Priority Health overall.”

King joined Priority Health in 2012 to develop acquisitional marketing and product launches across all segments in the employer solutions division. In preparation for the implementation of the Affordable Care Act (ACA), she transitioned to the small group and individual teams and was instrumental in distribution channel rollout of narrow and tiered network products. As marketing director, King led data-driven acquisition and retention strategies for the Individual, Medicaid, and Dual-eligible Special Needs (DSNP) markets. She has been an integral part of Priority Health’s growth, developing segmentation strategies, and represented Priority Health as a panelist at a White House ACA summit in Washington D.C.

In her new role, King will be responsible for leading teams in the development and implementation of business strategies to manage performance and drive growth for the Individual market. King is a graduate of Michigan State University and most recently earned a certificate of completion from Grand Valley State University’s Seidman College of Business in Spectrum Health’s Transformational Leadership Corporate Training Program.

“I’m honored to step into this role and grateful for the opportunity to work alongside this incredibly talented team,” said King. “I look forward to continued innovation and making care and coverage better for everyone.”

Norman joins Priority Health after most recently serving as vice president of business development and Medicare operations for Physicians Health Plan, a division of Sparrow Health System. Norman was responsible for network development, strategic planning, sales, marketing and product development.

Prior to his role at Physicians Health Plan, Norman was vice president of sales and client services at Priority Health, where he led the commercial sales team. He later went on to lead the senior markets team as vice president of senior markets from 2016 to 2017. Norman is a graduate of Michigan State University.

“I’m excited to join Priority Health and for the opportunity to lead the Medicare team, which is nationally recognized as producing some of the most innovative and high-quality Medicare products,” said Norman. “Our goal will be to expand on the past success Priority Health has enjoyed and continue to serve all communities across Michigan with access to affordable care that focuses on improving the health of our members and neighbors.”
