RoomReady Hires Ty Mericle to Oversee Operations

NORMAL, Ill.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Meeting room technology provider RoomReady has named business leader Ty Mericle as its new Chief Operating Officer, effective May 25th. Mericle will be responsible for the company’s operations, with an emphasis on strategic planning and growing profitability through operational excellence.

Mericle brings 16 years of experience running operations across multiple divisions at enterprise information management company Iron Mountain, including 11 years as the general manager of its North Central U.S. Region, and five years as vice president of operations in Europe, covering regions including the U.K., Ireland, and the Nordics. Prior to joining Iron Mountain, Mericle served as a captain in the U.S. Army for more than eight years.

“Ty is a perfect fit to help guide RoomReady’s growth. His leadership qualities, developed both from more than a decade of corporate experience and his military service, are second-to-none,” said Aaron McArdle, RoomReady CEO. “As RoomReady continues to expand its operational footprint and client base, Ty’s expertise will be invaluable.”

Mericle succeeds former COO Jamie Huff, who was recently promoted to President and EOS Integrator. Huff will be focused on the financial performance of the company, leading RoomReady’s executive team, and expansion through mergers, acquisitions and organic new office build-outs.

Mericle will be based in RoomReady’s headquarters in Normal, Illinois. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Michigan State University, where he also participated in the Army ROTC program. Outside of work, he’s an avid hunter and fisher, and enjoys traveling with his family.

“One of my favorite quotes is ‘opportunity involves risk – you can’t steal second base with your foot still on first.’ We’re going to make bold moves at RoomReady, and from the moment I first met the team, I was confident we will succeed,” Mericle said. “I can’t wait to hit the ground running.”
