Poised to Help SCYTHE Leverage Government Funding to Advance Company’s Cybersecurity R&D Efforts

ARLINGTON, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--SCYTHE, a leader in adversarial emulation and breach and attack simulation, today announced that James “Jim” Webster has been appointed as Director of Federal Research and Development efforts. Webster will pursue and recommend ways SCYTHE can secure federal funding to advance the company’s R&D efforts.

“Jim has more than 30 years as a senior information assurance professional developing effective security programs that operate in concert with, and not against, organizational goals,” said Bryson Bort, CEO and founder, SCYTHE. “During the past 10 years, Jim served as the CISO of a large defense contractor building an information assurance program from the ground up. He will be instrumental in gaining consensus with business leaders to implement controls/services that effectively manage risk and protect critical information assets.”

Prior to joining SCYTHE, Webster worked closely with the National Defense Information Sharing and Analysis Center (ND-ISAC) to share threat information and work to improve the security posture of the entire Defense Industrial Base (DIB). He has also served as the company representative on the DoD DIB Cyber Security Task Force to help improve DoD and industry cooperation.
