BMW Celebrates 50 Years of Sports Line “BMW M” in style in Dominican Republic

More than 400 people from 12 Latin American countries attended the “M Power Tour 2022”, held by Magna Motors at Las Américas Racetrack

SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic--(BUSINESS WIRE)--In celebration of the 50-year anniversary of the BMW M brand, the German company’s most sporty and advanced line of vehicles, from May 18th to May 22th 2022, the most important automotive event was held in the Dominican Republic: the “BMW M Power Tour 2022.”

The celebration took place at the Las Américas Racetrack and was hosted by Magna Motors, the official BMW Group distributor in the country. It was attended by more than 400 guests, including participation from 12 countries in Latin America, who enjoyed and experienced the pleasure of driving different models of the BMW M brand. Furthermore, they had the opportunity to be part of the BMW, MINI and BMW Motorrad motorcycle exhibition, from historic models to new launches that first arrived in this area of the continent.

During the track activities, international drivers of the brand were present who supported the participants in different driving tests, where they had the opportunity to feel the adrenaline of high-competition motorsports.

The event was attended by Alejandro Echeagaray, CEO of Import Markets of Latin America and the Caribbean at BMW Group Latin America; Agustín Lama Verdeja, CEO of Magna Motors; Avelino Rodríguez, president of Magna Motors, as well as special guests and specialized media.

“Magna Motors has become a very important business partner for BMW Group Latin America throughout our region, and we are proud to have the Dominican Republic be the host country for this world-class experience,” said Agustín Lama Verdeja, CEO of Magna Motors.

This year, BMW Group celebrates 50 years of its M-line, the most powerful line, which began as a mere experiment to include the brand within the vehicle competitions segment and today, after five decades, has become a true lab to develop powerful cars, with advanced technology, making these models “The Ultimate Driving Machine.”
