Couple Sets out on World Record Attempt - Powered by DŌST

VANCOUVER, British Columbia--(BUSINESS WIRE)--DŌST Bikes is proud to support Danielle “Flipper” Kreusch and Kyle “Skipper” Hawkins in their quest to set a new Guinness World Record for “longest journey by motorized bicycle”. Starting in St. Petersburg, Florida on May 1st, the couple plans to travel more than 7,000 miles over three months on their DŌST Bikes, riding an average of 100 miles/day. DŌST will be following their journey and is proud to share their first update here.

“When we started DŌST, our goal was to equip enthusiasts with the industry’s best and most reliable long-range ebike. What we didn’t expect was that a daunting world record would be attempted using DŌST bikes shortly thereafter,” said Sam Atakhonov, DŌST Bikes Founder and CEO. “Our team is incredibly excited to support Danielle and Kyle on this monumental journey. We hope it inspires others to see how sustainable modes of transport can push the boundaries of what was previously thought impossible.”

“Our mission in attempting this world record is to encourage others to seek adventure in whatever form that looks like to them,” said Kreusch. “For us it's riding our DŌST bikes across all four corners of the country,” added Hawkins. “The support from the team and community at DŌST has been inspiring and we’re excited to have you all on this ride.”

Kreusch, 30, and Hawkins, 35, plan to stick to the backroads on their journey, aiming for key milestone corner markers including: Key West, Florida; Madawaska, Maine; Blaine, Washington; and their final destination of San Diego, California.

The current Guinness World Record for “longest journey by motorized vehicle” was set in 2016 by Ravindran Kempaiah, who covered 12 states in 34 days spanning over 5,100 miles. Guinness World Records Limited (www.guinnessworldrecords.com) is the global authority on record-breaking achievement.
