MIAMI--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Alvarez & Marsal Taxand, LLC (A&M Taxand), an affiliate of leading global professional services firm Alvarez & Marsal (A&M), has appointed Alfonso A-Pallete, formerly of KPMG, as a Managing Director. Mr. A-Pallete will lead A&M Taxand’s Miami-based Latin America Complex Transactions group, focusing on cross-border mergers and acquisitions, private equity investing, international tax planning, and supply chain restructuring.
Mr. A-Pallete’s in-depth knowledge of international tax considerations across the globe, with a strong focus on LATAM, strategically strengthens the firm’s global transaction offerings from a tax advisory perspective, according to Ernesto Perez, Global Practice Leader of A&M Taxand.
“Alfonso has advised major clients on cross-border transactions, business restructuring, intellectual property, tax and financial modeling, across multiple sectors including pharmaceuticals, consumer, energy and financial services. His expertise will help clients maximize inbound and outbound Latin America opportunities while simultaneously managing cross-border tax implications,” Mr. Perez said.
As part of the firm’s expanding tax advisory footprint, Mr. A-Pallete will build and lead a global team directed towards the burgeoning Latin American market. His hire is complimented by the appointments of Senior Directors Antonio Macias Valdes joining from DLA Piper where he led Transfer Pricing for Latin America and Giorgio Massari Figari joining from Softbank where he oversaw the Latin America Fund, Opportunity Fund and Miami initiative, further bolstering A&M’s global complex transaction tax offerings.

Mr. A-Pallete joins A&M with more than two decades of experience working in Madrid, Miami and New York. Most recently he served as a KPMG International Tax Principal and was previously part of the firm’s Americas Tax leadership team. In addition, Mr. A-Pallete worked on developing multinational investment strategies and market seeking opportunities along the US-Spain corridor. Since 2005, he has been based in the US, where he led several multi-jurisdiction tax restructurings in the Latin American region.
