Hinge Health Launches a Nationally Accessible Womens Pelvic Health Program

Expands digital musculoskeletal (MSK) services to help 700 employers and health plans address the grossly underserved pelvic health needs among millions of women

SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Hinge Health, the world’s #1 Digital Musculoskeletal Clinic™, announces the launch of a Women’s Pelvic Health program, setting a new standard for nationally accessible and clinically validated pelvic healthcare. The program is delivered by a comprehensive care team specializing in women’s health, available in all 50 states, and accessible via a member’s existing Hinge Health app.

One in four women has a pelvic floor disorder. Most women don’t receive treatment due to a lack of awareness, stigma, and inadequate access to pelvic floor physical therapists resulting in an average of more than six years before receiving care for certain conditions.

"Pelvic Floor Disorders are one of the most common health challenges women face, yet it remains one of the most underserved needs by our current healthcare system," said Karen Stander, vice president of physical therapy, Hinge Health. "Today's launch represents a milestone in providing women everywhere with urgent access to world-class pelvic health care, empowering them to take control of their health during important life events."

The Hinge Health Women’s Pelvic Health program member experience includes:

  • Care for the unique musculoskeletal needs of women: including prolapse, abdominal separation (diastasis recti), bladder and bowel problems, and chronic pelvic pain. The pathway supports women at all stages of life including pregnancy, postpartum, and menopause when pelvic disorders are most common.
  • Comprehensive care team: same day video visits with highly trained pelvic floor physical therapists who customize digital exercise programs, women’s health coaches to spur lifestyle modifications, and urogynecologists to support care escalations.
  • A single platform for all MSK care: all care is accessible within a member’s existing Hinge Health platform experience. Pelvic floor disorders frequently co-occur with other MSK pain, such as hip and back pain, requiring coordinated care. A single platform enables comprehensive whole-body treatment and unprecedented flexibility.
  • Proactive education and engagement: pelvic health education is integrated across all Digital Clinic offerings, to increase awareness and tackle stigma, ensuring members get needed care earlier. In addition, Hinge Health care teams proactively identify high-risk members who would benefit from a pelvic health assessment via HingeConnect’s integration with nearly 1 million in-person providers.

The Women’s Pelvic Health program will be available to all customers of Hinge Health, currently totaling 15 million lives across 700 employers and health plans, creating the world’s largest community with access to digital pelvic care.
