One of the first five universities to offer engineering instruction in the nation, The University of Alabama created its Crimson Racing team to take part in Formula SAE competitions. Battling universities from across the globe, the team of university undergraduate and graduate students conceives, designs, fabricates, develops, and competes with small, formula-style vehicles. Not only do team members apply engineering skills and compete in events, but they also learn about design principles and the effort required to generate a high-quality product.

Through generous sponsorship, Orbweaver and other industry leaders fund supplies and parts for the Crimson Racing car, investing in the next generation of engineers driven by a common passion.
