Diligent Secures Patent for Its Organizational Health Analysis Technology

The patented technology provides boards and executives with actionable insights from market intelligence

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Diligent, the global leader in modern governance providing SaaS solutions across governance, risk, compliance and ESG, is pleased to announce the issuance by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office of patent Nº 11,263,523 covering Diligent’s system and method for organizational health analysis.

Diligent’s patented organizational health analysis technology provides directors and executives with actionable insights about their companies, industries and peers from news, social and other online media sources. The proprietary algorithm analyzes articles from over 70,000 news sources to assess their sentiment — good, bad or neutral — in 25 different categories such as regulations or operations. These values are then aggregated into a corporate health score, which is a simple media snapshot that indicates strengths and exposure points, telling boards and executives where they need to focus their attention.

“We are delighted with the patent as recognition of Diligent’s focus on innovation and excellence in technology,” said Dan Zitting, Chief Product and Strategy Officer at Diligent. “With the amount of data and news we are inundated with every day, boards and executives need a simple way to stay up to speed on their companies and industries. Our patented technology gives them the insights needed to make strategic decisions for the benefit of their business.”

The non-provisional patent was filed in January 2018, and the first author on the patent is Dr. Andrew Duchon, Senior Director of Data Science at Diligent.

“Diligent’s organizational health analysis technology provides directors and executives with unique analysis and forecasting that drives everything from ESG decision-making to sales efforts and business development,” said Duchon. “This patent is a testament to the years of research and development behind the algorithms that power these strategic insights.”

Customers can leverage Diligent’s organizational health analysis technology through the Diligent Boards and Compensation & Governance Intel solutions.
