Suffolk Completes Boston College Integrated Science Center at 245 Beacon Street

Innovative contractor successfully delivers $150-million state-of-the-art facility that will house university’s Schiller Institute for Integrated Science and Society

BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Suffolk, one of the most innovative real estate and construction enterprises and builders in the country, successfully delivered the 245 Beacon Street integrated science facility for Boston College. The $150-million building is the largest single investment in the sciences at Boston College.

The new state-of-the-art science center will be home to the Schiller Institute for Integrated Science and Society and 150,000-square-feet of classrooms, labs, faculty offices, collaboration and maker spaces to teach and conduct research in computer science robotics, prototype research and nanotechnology research.

As a result of early planning and close collaboration with Boston College and the trade partners, the project team was able to minimize risk and address challenges related to the heavy student traffic, campus location and accelerated schedule.
