AEGIX AIM System Transforms Emergency Management with Electronic Connection and Physical Protection

AEGIX Global’s groundbreaking new technology platform helps safeguard lives by streamlining the management of emergencies for facility-specific and community disasters

SALT LAKE CITY--(BUSINESS WIRE)--AEGIX Global today announced the AEGIX AIM (Active Incident Management) System to streamline and improve how emergencies are managed room-by-room and building by building throughout a community. The AEGIX AIM System combines three critical elements to improve successful outcomes during emergencies with a powerful emergency management and communication app and platform; innovative physical and ballistic protection; expert training with emergency plan development and drills for various scenarios.

“There is no substitute for preparedness, communication and situational awareness at every stage of man-made emergencies, accidents or natural disasters,” said Chet Linton, CEO of AEGIX Global. “AEGIX AIM System directly addresses some of the toughest challenges of emergency management answering what is happening, who needs help and exactly where it needs to go. The app is very sophisticated, yet extremely easy to use. When this technology is combined with the game-changing physical protection of Swift Shield and the individualized training our team provides, civic leaders, company executives, school administrators, first responders and parents can know they are as prepared as possible to successfully manage a variety of emergency situations.”

Emergency Management Platform

The AEGIX AIM App, powered by DIR-S, is a user-friendly push-button app to manage facility-specific emergencies from a desktop, patrol car or smartphone. The application allows for individuals in an organization to notify others of an emergency with a touch of a button. It enables those at schools, hospitals, airports, resorts, universities, corporate offices, public buildings, manufacturing facilities and more to communicate during emergencies real-time with chat features and a simple push-button feature for individuals to let others know if they are “safe” or “unsafe.” AEGIX AIM App gives first responders new levels of situational awareness with interactive facility floor plans to better know exactly what is happening and where in real time.

This application is essential for emergency management in worst case scenarios such as active shooters in a school or a chemical spill at a manufacturing facility as well as more common emergencies such as medical incidents and lost children. Not only does it manage communications, but it also allows those on the system, including teachers and managers to account for individuals, such as every student in the school building or every employee in the facility. Furthermore, it provides for reverse-alerts, which instantly notify schools, city buildings and so forth about a dangerous situation such as an approaching armed suspect. Reverse-alerts let leaders initiate lockdown protocols in seconds to help keep people safe and out of harm’s way.

Physical Protection

The AEGIX AIM system delivers physical safety and portable ballistic protection with the award-winning, lightweight Swift Shield™. Swift Shield employs a unique origami folding design to collapse down to the size of a notebook computer for easy storage. It provides a new approach to personal protection as it can be discreetly stored at the front desk in a lobby, in classrooms, on an office shelf, under a vehicle’s seat or even in a backpack or computer bag. Swift Shield panels are individually Level IIIA certified (NIJ-STD-0108.01), so it defends against most ballistic threats. In addition to Swift Shield, AEGIX can provide next-generation bullet-proof glass, first aid gear and other personal protection equipment.

Education and Training

AEGIX AIM Training not only provides peace of mind by empowering leaders, first responders and individuals with how best to use the system and equipment, it also provides education and guidance on how to develop optimal emergency plans, how and when to conduct drills and how best to interact with first responders and others.
