Seward & Kissel Announces 2022 Partner and Counsel Promotions

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Seward & Kissel LLP, a leading national law firm, is pleased to announce that Daniel Bresler and Nicholas Miller have been promoted to partner. The firm has also promoted Jay Baroody, Kurt Plankl, Dora Pulido, Filana Silberberg, and Steven Starr to counsel. The promotions were made effective January 1, 2022.

Daniel Bresler, promoted from counsel to partner, is a member of the firm’s Investment Management Group. He represents U.S. and non-U.S. investment managers, commodity pool operators, commodity trading advisors, and private funds, including hedge funds and private equity funds. He advises clients on a variety of securities, commodities, digital assets, and corporate law matters, including fund structuring and formation, derivatives regulation, and Securities Exchange Act filings, while also assisting them in developing and implementing SEC, CFTC, and NFA compliance policies and procedures.

Nicholas Miller, promoted from associate to partner, is a member of the firm’s Investment Management Group. He represents sponsors and managers of private investment funds, including hedge funds and private equity funds, on all aspects of their businesses, including formation, structuring, and capital raising matters. He also regularly represents new managers in seed transaction negotiations. Nick has extensive experience structuring onshore and offshore investment vehicles, including special purpose vehicles, co-investment vehicles, and funds of one. In addition, he counsels registered and unregistered investment advisers on regulatory compliance matters. Nick works with start-up managers, as well as with a large number of established managers with assets under management well into the tens of billions of dollars.
