Quickbase Named a Leader in Low-Code Platforms for Business Developers Analyst Report

Platform “commonly shortlisted for enterprise citizen development deals...”

BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Quickbase, the leading no-code platform for operational agility, today announced it was named a leader in The Forrester Wave™: Low-Code Platforms for Business Developers, Q4 20211.

The Forrester report notes that Quickbase’s “greatest strength is its holistic approach to security and governance, with superior features across access controls (for both developers and end users), configurable policies, and app portfolio monitoring.”

In a recent Forrester survey of development managers2, 39% of respondents stated that their organization’s goal in adopting low-code was to empower employees outside of IT to deliver apps.

“We’re excited to see Forrester recognize what we see as the importance of a closer partnership between IT and line-of-business leaders to enable more people in the business to innovate,” said Ed Jennings, CEO of Quickbase. “We believe our standing in The Forrester Wave is reflective of our commitment to organizations to unlock the latent potential of their employees outside of IT to build enterprise-grade digital solutions and overcome operational barriers to deliver on complex, high-stakes initiatives.”

The Forrester report also recognized Quickbase stating, “The firm’s vision for scaled, democratized operations improvement through software, its in-house services for customer enablement and citizen dev strategies, and its aggressive go-to-market strategy for its target industries are all superior.”

Quickbase received the highest possible scores in 12 criteria, including:

  • Databases and data modeling experience
  • Integration tools, connectors, adapters
  • Application quality checks and testing
  • Dev permissions, policies, and guardrail
  • Platform monitoring and analytics
  • Access control for admins and end users
  • Security audits and certifications

The report noted that Quickbase is “an excellent choice for citizen development strategies focused on the features and services necessary for scaled, enterprise governance on a data-driven platform.”

Over the years, the no-code / low-code market has broken into two fundamentally different categories: platforms that enable professional developers to work faster, and platforms that empower anyone in the business to automate processes and workflows. Quickbase is the longest running pioneer in the latter as the company has spent over 20 years focusing on building technology that both meets the security and governance requirements for enterprise grade systems and is tuned for rapid solution development and iteration.

In Q2, the company announced a number of upgrades to its platform to power citizen automation at scale, including a partnership with Lucid, enablement services packages, and a series of updates designed to give businesses greater visibility into their operational workflows and on-premises systems, along with flexible licensing. More product upgrades will be released in the coming months to support enterprise customers and meet the unique needs of industries such as construction, supply chain, real estate, and energy.
