Leading Brands Offer 11.11 Mega Deals to Asia’s E-Wallet Users for the First Time in Partnership with Alipay+ Rewards

Through Alipay+ Rewards, online and offline merchants offer over 10 million coupons to aid post-pandemic economic recovery

SINGAPORE--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Prominent brands from digital entertainment and lifestyle to O2O services have teamed up with Alipay+ Rewards in launching 11.11 Mega Deals across China’s Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and Southeast Asian countries for the first time, connecting with e-wallet users across the region.

Online and offline merchants including Google Play, iQiyi, foodpanda, Lazada and many others used Alipay+ Rewards to enliven the annual shopping season and boost the post-pandemic economic recovery, issuing over 10 million coupons.

Throughout November 11, also known as Singles’ Day in China, users of TrueMoney in Thailand, Touch ‘n Go in Malaysia, GCash in the Philippines, DANA in Indonesia and AlipayHK in Hong Kong can access coupons for free gifts and attractive deals of up to 90% off in their usual payment apps via Alipay+ Rewards.

Alipay+ Rewards, developed by Ant Group, the owner and operator of digital payments platform Alipay, provide a global marketing solution that enables merchants large and small to efficiently engage with hundreds of millions of mobile wallet users across the world. It is among the suite of global cross-border mobile payments and marketing solutions provided by Alipay+.

“Bigger than Black Friday and Boxing Day combined, the 11.11 Global Shopping Festival is the single-biggest growth driver for many brands each year,” said Yin Jing, General Manager of Global Strategic Accounts, Ant Group. “This year is the first time that both global and local merchants in Hong Kong and Southeast Asia are leveraging Alipay+ Rewards, to introduce more digital offers and extend the Singles’ Day shopping tradition in their markets.”

“We look forward to working alongside merchants both big and small to support their growth for the long term, and we are committed to supporting our partners’ digitalization and boosting the post-pandemic recovery of businesses across Asia,” he said.

Southeast Asia is the world’s fastest-growing region for mobile wallets, with a projected user growth rate of 311% from 2020 to nearly 440 million by 2025, according to a recent study by Boku conducted in partnership with Juniper Research.

TeraBox, the cloud-based storage solution provider that offers its users 1TB cloud storage space for free, has been offering membership benefits through Alipay+ Rewards since the 9.9 shopping festival.

“As an industry leader in mobile payments, Alipay has been growing its partnerships around the world, including with mobile wallets in Southeast Asia where they are helping businesses broaden consumer outreach through various scenarios,” said Felix Lee, TeraBox Product Operation Director. “Today, mobile shopping and digital payment have become the key channels for the growth of the internet business. We hope that our cooperation with Alipay+ Rewards will continue to provide more benefits to our users in the future.”

"In line with our omnichannel strategy, working with Alipay+ Rewards to offer customers at Tealive stores an online discount brought in growth in transactions. This demonstrates the benefits that digitalization can bring to growth companies like us by connecting millions of consumers with their favourite brands." says Bryan Loo, founder and CEO of Loob Holding Sdn Bhd, the parent company of Tealive, the leading lifestyle tea in Southeast Asia.
