Beatrice Society Merges with Boxcar Social, Appoints John Baker as CEO

Beatrice Society looks to further expand functional mushroom business into the food and beverage industry, bringing Boxcar Social Co-Founder on as Head

TORONTO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Beatrice Society Inc. (“The Company” or “Beatrice”), a psychedelics and mushroom company focused on improving wellbeing and quality of life, today announces that the company has merged with Toronto’s leading café, bottle shop, and restaurant chain Boxcar Social Inc. The merger will expand Beatrice’s health and wellness business into Toronto’s vibrant café community by introducing high-quality mushroom-infused coffee products to all Boxcar Social ​locations.

With this merger, John Baker, Co-Founder of Boxcar Social, will be moving into the CEO position at Beatrice. Baker will bring nearly a decade of experience leading retail management and product development, driving the expansion of Beatrice’s product offerings and entrance into new verticals in the psychedelics and functional mushrooms industries.
